New courses added to our Financial Markets catalogue
Quartic Training is pleased to annouce two courses that have been added to our Financial Markets catalogue. Both courses are being delivered by Michael Stafferton who has recently joined our facality.Â
 He has been providing training, primarily for banks and asset managers, on a broad range of financial market subjects since 1999 and has written a textbook on Credit Derivatives, which is due to have an updated second edition in 2013.
Securitisation
This one day Securitisation course covers the major sectors – residential mortgages, commercial mortgages, consumer ABS (credit card and auto loans) and Collateralised Debt Obligations (CDOs), including synthetic, their risks, how the transactions are structured and managed and their pros and cons for issuers and investors.

Basel Bank Regulation
This one day Basel Bank Regulation course covers the hierarchy of ways in which banks are required to estimate the scale of their main risk exposures – credit, operational, market, the different types of capital, the amounts they must have of each and how these are calculated. Also covered are liquidity requirements and the importance of the national supervisor and reporting requirements.
Michael Stafferton
Michael has eight years’ experience in the financial markets, initially in the Financial Engineering Group at Yamaichi International, then one of the ‘Big Four’ Japanese securities houses, where he was responsible for structuring and transacting swaps and other derivatives for Yamaichi’s European clients. He then moved to a capital markets origination role, covering clients in the UK and Europe, during which time he greatly expanded the volume of deals executed and was given responsibility for the more technically demanding clients, including the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Bank of England.
