In our new series of CFA Level II intro videos, 10 Topics in 10 Weeks, we begin with Ethics, which Nicholas Blain, CFA, says should be the beginning, the middle and the end of your studies. You may still be familiar with the Standards of Professional Conduct from Level I, but you need to understand the detail, the grey areas and several hundred worked examples.

At Level II your Ethics questions will represent 10 to 15% of your exam, up to 18 questions. Plan your studying with those numbers in mind, and skip the topic at your peril!

A solid foundation in ethical thinking will also be invaluable for your clients, your firm and your own career.
